The Trans Safety Emergency Fund – TSEF is a Swiss-based non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial emergency support for Trans individuals in dire situations. We offer financial assistance for issues related to housing, health, legal challenges and other urgent needs Trans individuals might face. As a Trans and BIPOC-led organization, our mission is to foster safety, resilience, and empowerment for Trans individuals through direct assistance and financial support. 

For completing our small team we are looking for a Fundraising Coordinator 40% starting July 2024 or by arrangement.

We are looking for a passionate and driven part-time Fundraising Coordinator to join our team. Fundraising coordination plays a crucial role in expanding our fundraising efforts to ensure the sustainability and growth of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help build up a young organization and make a meaningful impact in the lives of trans people.

Your Key Responsibilities are:

  • Develop and Implement Fundraising Strategies: Collaborate with the executive team to develop comprehensive fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals. Identify potential funding sources, including individual donors, corporate sponsors, grants, and events.
  • Grant Writing and Management: Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporate donors,  and other grant-making organizations. Manage ongoing relationships with grantors, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and cultivating long-term partnerships.
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: Build and maintain relationships with individual donors, nurturing a supportive community of contributors. Develop personalized stewardship plans to engage donors, express gratitude, and keep them informed about the impact of their contributions.
  • Fundraising Events: Plan, organize, and execute fundraising events, such as galas, or community outreach initiatives. Coordinate logistics, recruit volunteers, and promote events to maximize attendance and fundraising outcomes.
  • Digital Fundraising and Campaigns: Utilize online platforms and digital marketing strategies to drive fundraising campaigns. Manage crowdfunding campaigns, email appeals, and social media fundraising initiatives to reach a broad audience and inspire support.
  • Budget Management: Work closely with the finance team to develop and monitor fundraising budgets. Track expenses related to fundraising activities and ensure cost-effective strategies to maximize fundraising revenue.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including program managers, communications staff, and volunteers, to integrate fundraising efforts with organizational initiatives. Provide regular updates to the Executive Board on fundraising progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Your Qualifications are:

  • Proven experience in fundraising, development, or related roles within the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling grant proposals, donor appeals, and fundraising materials.
  • Experience in donor cultivation, stewardship, and relationship management.
  • Experience with grant writing, grant management, and reporting requirements.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively whilst working independently or in a collaborative team environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for fundraising events or donor engagements.
  • Your English is good in spoken and written language. 
  • You have a solid understanding of the German language.
  • You live in Switzerland.

Bonus points if you are proficient in digital fundraising platforms and online marketing tools and/or have a degree in nonprofit management, fundraising, marketing, or a related field.

We work with a standardized monthly wage of 6700 CHF (gross, 100%).
